TCAN332: Thermal data of TCAN332DCN

Part Number: TCAN332

For the thermal analysis, we need the below data of  TCAN332DCN part. Could you please help on this?

 Required Data:

  • θjb & θjc
  • Maximum power dissipation/Loss at 1Mbps communication?
  • Typical power dissipation/Loss at 1Mbps communication?
  • Ramesh,

The thermal impedance values you're requesting are in the device data sheet in the Thermal Information section.

Regarding the dissipation of the device, this depends on the percent of the time that the device is transmitting a dominant (data rate is irrelevant). The current consumption over time would be the weighted average of the amount of time that the driver/transmitter is sending a dominant pulse and the amount of time that it is not sending a dominant pulse. These values are given as ICC in the Electrical Characteristics table in the device data sheet.

    IAVG,MAX ≈ D*(55 mA) + (1 - D)*(3.5 mA)

where D represents the percent of time that the device is transmitting a dominant signal. You can then calculate average power dissipation.

    PAVG,MAX ≈ IAVG,MAX * VSUP

The current consumption of the device is bounded within worst-case maximum values across all process/voltage/temperature. There is no typical value provided.

    Best,

    Danny
