TLIN2029A-Q1: Differences between TLIN2027 and TLIN2029A

Part Number: TLIN2029A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLIN1027-Q1, TLIN2027-Q1, TLIN1029A-Q1

Please will you list the key differences between TLIN2027 and TLIN2029A?

Thanks.

  • Chris,

The TLIN1027-Q1 is the equivalent of the TLIN2029A-Q1 except that the TLIN2027-Q1 does not include the dominant time-out feature. For the TLIN2029A-Q1, DTO is a protection feature that stops devices from blocking communication on the bus during a fault. This maximum dominant time effectively limits the slowest communication rate that can be achieved by a transmitter. K-Line applications following ISO 9141 (rather than LIN standards like J2962 and ISO 17987) do not have a maximum dominant transmitting time, so the TLIN2027-Q1 allows for compatibility with these communication schemes.

The same principle applies for TLIN1027-Q1 versus TLIN1029A-Q1.

    Best,

    Danny
