Hello,

I am interested in your DS90UB953 -Q1EVM and DS90UB954-Q1EVM products to test how they operate together via STP instead of POC. In the Dev kit of the DS90UB954-Q1EVM, I see that the J30 and the J29 connectors would need to be used for STP but how would that connect to the DS90UB953-Q1EVM? Is the DS90UB953-Q1EVM not meant to be used for STP testing? Is there another serdes EVM products that I use via STP right out of the box?

Hello Arturo,

We currently do have have any EVMs that were designed to be able to connect over STP out of the box.

The EVMs were designed several years ago to test the most common-use test cases for our ADAS devices, which is mostly COAX due to PoC customer applications. It seems the option of STP was explored, but not fully implemented in all of our EVMs.

Due to a variety of factors, such as supporting the cost of additional Rosenberger connectors and cables, limited board size, and limited customer needs, our default ADAS EVMs mostly support COAX out of the box.

However, all of the features of our chip can be tested through this COAX connection. And you can disable the PoC input into the system through jumper settings and power each board locally through a +12V DC jack or banana jacks.

In that case, would you be able to provide me the OrCAD /allegro board file for both the DS90UB953 -Q1EVM and DS90UB954-Q1EVM?

Hello Arturo,

The EVM design files can only be shared with customer that have an active NDA with TI that covers FPD-Link parts. There are also reference designs that are public on TI.com, where Gerber files are available.
