TCAN1162-Q1: INH pin goes high after Vsup is applied

Part Number: TCAN1162-Q1

Hello,

We are using local wake up pin for enabling the LDO. In our case after applying Vsup as 12V the INH pin is getting high which is turning ON the LDO. Without applying wake up signal INH is getting high.

We want the design to be when we apply Vsup and CAN_wake up(12V signal) after this only the INH pin should go high otherwise it should remain low.

PFA the schematic for reference. Please suggest how to do it.

  • Hi SK,

Thanks for bringing your question to E2E.

The TCAN1162 treats initial power on of the Vsup supply as a local wake condition. This is done so that when the system will become active immediately when battery power is first applied. Unfortunately there is no way the change this behavior as the state machine has fixed behavior for initial power up.

In the end application you are designing, is it common for the battery to be disconnected and reapplied? Is it possible for the MCU for this node to be able to handle this situation by putting the transceiver back to sleep mode after the battery connection?
