SN65LVDS822: Connection with SN65LVDS93A

Part Number: SN65LVDS822
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVDS93A

Hello,

My customer would like to connect SN65LVDS93A inputs to SN65LVDS822 outputs.

The following connections are correct? If not, please show the correct connections
SN65LVDS93A inputs      SN65LVDS822outputs
                       D0         →            D0
                       D1         →            D1
                       D2         →            D2
                       D3         →            D3
                       D4         →            D4
                       D5         →            D22
                       D6         →            D5

Best regards,

  • Hi Kazuhiko,

The SN65LVDS93A is expecting an input from the D0 - D27 pins and uses the Y pins as LVDS outputs. This LVDS output is used as input for the SN65LVDS822 and this device will perform CMOS Output.

Please take a look at the typical application section in the SN65LVDS822 datasheet. If the customer wants to use these two devices together they can do this:

    --(CMOS Input) -- > SN65LVDS93A -- (LVDS Output) --> SN65LVDS822 -- (CMOS Output) --> Display

  • Gil,

Please take a look at the signal flow table in the attached excel file.
The table is my customer's understanding. Is that correct?

  • Hi Kazuhiko,

The SN65LVDS822 receiver does not have a D27 output this should be the RSV bit which is ignored and unavailable for use. Other than this the table provided is correct. Please take a look at the section 10 Application and Implementation.
