DP83620: Need MDC Frequency wrt RMII

Hi Experts,

We are using DP83620 Ethernet PHY Transceiver in our design. In datasheet, section 4.7 AC Specifications — MII Serial Management Timing table MDC Clock Frequency provided. We need MDC Clock Frequency of the same wrt to RMII Interface. Please provide the Frequency of the same.

MDC frequency is independent of RMII. Please operate the SMI bus at the frequency noted in the datasheet.

Hi Gerome,

Understood. In datasheet SMI Bus Frequency need to be operated Typ 2.5MHz to 25MHz. Is there any way to configure that from Processor. We also raised query regarding this in e2e. I have attached link for your reference.

Hello,

Unfortunately, this is a question best served by the processor team. From a PHY standpoint, so long as you give the PHY the datasheet outline parameters, then the device should operate as expected.
