TLK10034: power filtering

Part Number: TLK10034

The data sheet did not provide power design information. Is there a app note, design guide or reference design you could send me with recommendations?

Is a separate regulator needed for the analog core?

Would a single supply with separate filtered rails be okay?

I noticed on the eval board there are two digital and two analog 1V supplies as well as 0-ohm resistors for filters if needed but no suggestions as to what type.

Any guidance on power supply filtering would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • Hi Joey,

The data sheet did not provide power design information. Is there a app note, design guide or reference design you could send me with recommendations?

The data sheet has some limited information in the Pin Configuration and Functions section and the Power Supply Recommendations section. I recommend following the power design shown in the schematics section of the EVM user's guide as this design is known to work. All of my recommendations will be based on the EVM power design. You are free to use a power design that differs from the EVM, but you will be responsible for ensuring that supply noise is stable.

Is a separate regulator needed for the analog core?

Yes, separate LDO regulators should be used for VDDA, VDDT, VDDD, and DVDD.

Would a single supply with separate filtered rails be okay?

Separate supplies should be used for analog power, digital power, and regulator/I/O power.

I noticed on the eval board there are two digital and two analog 1V supplies as well as 0-ohm resistors for filters if needed but no suggestions as to what type.

That will depend on what the power supply noise looks like. If you follow the EVM power design, then no supply filtering should be necessary.

    Best,

    Lucas
