SN75LBC182: Latest information on SN75LBC180ADR

Part Number: SN75LBC182
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN75LBC180A

Hi,

I can't find the SN75LBC180A product page on TI's website, so could you please provide the following information?

Q1
Has there been a change in product status (active, NRND, EOL, etc.)?

Q2
Please tell me the difference between SN75LBC180ADR and SN65LBC180ADR.

Q3
Please let me know if there is a pin-compatible model number that you would recommend as a replacement for the SN75LBC180ADR.

Thanks,

Conor

  • Hi Conor,

    1. SN75LBC180A has been EOL'd. If it is not on TI.com it is EOL'd.

    2. Temperature range - the SN65LBC180ADR has an extended temperature range - it can be used from -40C to 85C; where the SN75 version could only be used from 0C to 70C. Besides that they are the same. If you look at the electrical specifications in the datasheet (both devices share the same datasheet) you may notice some differences in min/max values - but that is because they were tested at lower/higher temperatures than the SN75 - realistically they are very similar just qualified at different temperatures so we'd expect both the SN65LBC180ADR and SN75LBC180ADR to operate similarly from 0C to 70C. Please note that the SN65LBC180ADR was redesigned recently (early 2023) - while we didn't see any boundary violations the typical behavior may be slightly different. Ultimately though The SN65LBC180ADR is the correct replacement.

    3. SN65LBC180ADR would be the correct replacement for this device.

    Best,
