DS90UB962-Q1: Rate Problems

Part Number: DS90UB962-Q1

I would like to ask why our camera can receive signals of up to 4x3Gbps when our intelligent output has a maximum bandwidth of 4x1.6Gbps?

  • Hello,

Thank you for your question. The DS90UB962 input and output signals are not identical. The FPD-Link input signal contains the data payload as well as additional signals like GPIOs, I2C, and control signals. While, the output signal is only the CSI output data signal, which is only a small portion of the input signal.

  • Thank you for your answer.

I understand that the maximum input bandwidth is 12Gbps and the maximum output bandwidth is 4x1.6Gbps. Is that correct?

  • Hello, the 962 has 4 RX ports and can support incoming data from 4 different serializers. If each serializer is operating at an FPD-Link rate of 3Gbps then there will be 12Gbps of FPD-Link data incoming. However, as mentioned in the previous post, all of the FPD-Link signal is not video data. It is also important to remember that the 962 will be paired with a partner serializer, which should also be taken into account for bandwidth considerations. For example, the 953 can only support 832Mbps per lane, for a maximum of 3.328Gbps if all 4 lanes are used. The output CSI port can be programmed for the maximum speed of 1.6Gbps per data lane and can support a maximum of 4 data lanes
