TLK10031: Can we use TLK10031 XFI to 10GBASE-KR?

Part Number: TLK10031
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS110DF111

Hi,

I want to use TLK10031 to interface it with NVIDIA JETSON AGX ORIN which is having XFI interface so can we use TLK10031 to interface XFI (ORIN) to 10Gbase-KR (Backplane) application?

Thanks

Sagar

  • Hi Sagar,

TLK10031 supports both 10GBASE-KR and XFI on the HS side of the device. Since this device's signal chain is HS --> LS (XAUI) and LS (XAUI) --> HS, you can convert 10GBASE-KR to XFI by looping LS outputs to LS inputs.

I'm assuming LT and AN will be disabled for this application? A 10G ethernet retimer such as DS110DF111 might be a simpler solution to interface between 10GBASE-KR and XFI, but note that our retimers do not support protocols such as LT and AN.

    Best,

    Lucas
