TUSB8042A: Is there any status register for fault reporting

Hi Brian,

In the customer application, they have BMC connects to USB hub IC TUSB8042A via I2C. Customer would like to know if there is something wrong with the USB hub, any register that BMC can get to know the malfunction info? Or any fault reporting mechanism can be used? Thank you.

Hi Randy:

For TUSB8042A, I2C is only used to communication with external EEPROM. But they can use SMBUS to talk to hub for register status.

Hi Randy:

Those registers are for VID, PID ,Manufacturer and Product information, or for port configuration . But not for any fault status report,
