SIL certified transceivers

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VM

Hi TI team,

Can you please let me know whether there are any ASIL or SIL2 certified transceivers for CAN and UART-RS485 available? As we are targeting for the complete product to be SIL-2 certified, can you please let me know whether there are any specific criteria (HW specific connections) that need to be considered for the selection of the above mentioned transceivers.

The target platform is TDA4VM. CAN shall be taken from the processor itself whereas for RS485 ,UART from the processor is taken and then converted to RS485.

  • Sai,

We do not have any transceivers that are specifically rated for SIL or ASIL rating. For our automotive devices, we can provide the functional safety documentation to help with ASIL rating of a system. Once this documentation is provided it is up to the customer, with our assistance, to design their system for an ASIL rating.

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett
