TCA9509: VILC question

Part Number: TCA9509

Hello expert,

My customer would like to know the behavior for TCA9509. If it needs to work normal, then A side Vo(max) should be less than 0.15V(VILC. Is it correct? If yes, then it should be too tight for the spec.

If no, then what is the definition for VILC? Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

Ann Lien

  • Hey Ann,

Yes, your understanding is correct. The VOL of the device driving A-side must be below VILC to ensure that the correct logic levels are transferred to B-side. Note the VILC requirement is only on A-side since this side contains an internal current source. If not compatible with current design, consider choosing a different I2C buffer.

    Regards,

    Jack
