TCAN330: Fault case current calculation

Hi,

From the datasheet of TCAN330DR, I saw the Bus dominant mode fault current would be 180mA considering the condition of CANH stuck at -12V.

I am assuming this would be arrived as below,

maximum faulty current = Faulty voltage of CANH (-12V) / 60Ohms (Termination resistance)

In my case, i am using only Vcc as 3.3V. So, even during the faulty condition, the maximum faulty voltage it can see is 3.3V. So, I am arriving the worst case faulty current as 55mA from below equation,

maximum faulty current = Faulty voltage of CANH (3.3V) / 60Ohms (Termination resistance).

Please help me if I am right here.

Pradeep,

This value represents the highest current that the driver is able to produce in the condition described under the "TEST CONDITIONS" column. It is not a V/R calculation but is rather a characteristic of the driver. This is not necessarily related to the 60Ω external termination. The condition represents the amount of current being consumed by the TCAN330 during the test conditions, not the current across the termination.
