LMH0397: floating SDI_OUT+/- pins should be disabled?

Part Number: LMH0397

Hello,

My customer is using LMH0397 on their product with the following settings, output both SDI_IO+/- and SDI_OUT+/-.
   EQ/CD_SEL : H (CD Mode)
   OUT0_SEL : L (Enable)
   SDI_OUT_SEL : L (Enable)
However, they do not use SDI_OUT+/- and leave those pins floating now.
Anything go wrong with SDI_OUT+/- floating?
Or SDI_OUT_SEL should be H(disable) to avoid any wrong affects?

Best regards,

K.Hirano

  • Hi Hirano-San,

Given SDI_OUT_SEL is enabled, SDI_OUT+/- are active. Further since these are not terminated, there would be reflection creasing noise. In summary, i don't expect anything to go wrong. For best design practice, it would be best to disabled SDI_OUT_SEL: H(Disable) or terminate these with 75-ohm to GND(after AC coupling).

    Regards, Nasser
