SN75DP128A: DP dual rate to dual link DVI

Hello,

Does the SN75DP128A handle R,G,B, CLK data types. I read this device is DP 1.1a only. Is this correct? From what I read, this does not support R,G,B data application. I'm looking to build a dual DP graphics path to support 2560x1600 at 60Hz to Dual Link DVI output. Is there an application note about this possible configuration.

One possible method I'm wondering about is the SN75DP128A demux driving two separate SN75DP139 translators to create the two separate R,G,B, CLK signal sets for DVI dual link connector. I'm wondering if this is possible to build and keep the skew low enough.

Hi,

Unfortunately we do not have any dual link DVI devices. The closest solution is TFP410, https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tfp410.pdf, but it can only support single link.

Thank you for responding David. Can you or somebody else say anything about the devices I mentioned? SN75DP128A is supposed to be capable of DP demuxing to support dual display port. My understanding is Display port data protocol is supposed to be compatible with HDMI/DVI. We're need to support in the end Dual link DVI at 2650x1600 at 60Hz. This would required two Display port channels in parallel. SN75DP138 is supposed to handle any level translation from DP to DVI.

Can somebody comment on this possible configuration?

The DP128A is a MUX which means only one output is selected. So to support two outputs simultaneously, you would need a DP splitter which we do not have in our product portfolio.

But for R,G,B data and clock input, this will not supported by the DisplayPort.
