TUSB211A-Q1: Signal integrity

Part Number: TUSB211A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB216, TUSB213, TUSB212

Tool/software:

Hi,

To perform USB end to end signal integrity, need IC SPICE/PSPICE models and other supporting documents.

  • Hi Rajkumar,

For models for the TUSB211A-Q1, we have an encrypted HSpice model for the TUSB212/TUSB213, and a Spectre model for the TUSB216.

What other types of documents are you looking for? We also have layout guidelines, and an app note detailing testing procedures available.

Please accept my friend request, and I can look at getting those models sent over.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

  • Hi Rajkumar,

Could you let me know the NDA ID your company has with TI? That way, I can password-protect the model files and send them over.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

  • HI Rayan,

NDA ID: ICMNDADMA_5608. If you require any other details please let me know.

  • Hi Rajkumar,

    Responded over E2E PM.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

  • Hi Rayan,

I require IBIS AMI model. can you please check and let me know.

  • Hi,

I need a IBIS AMI Model.

  • Hi Rajkumar,

Unfortunately, we cannot provide an IBIS-AMI model for our USB2 redrivers, as these models can reveal details about our device operation that are considered proprietary due to a patented design used to boost the signals as they pass through the redriver. Nor are we able to provide unencrypted versions of our models for the same reason. Sorry about that.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

  • Hi Rayan,

Thanks for a response. Since we need to validate our design before getting into production stage. We were expecting IC models to perform Signal integrity analysis.

Since IC's are not available, we would like to share our Working files with TI team, please confirm/assure Redriver IC's signal integrity Performance with our shared file and you can give/share the report of same.

Please let me know, how to a share our working file to perform Signal Integrity (SI) analysis.

    Thanks

    Rajkumar R

  • Hi Rajkumar,

Unfortunately, we do not have the resources on our side currently to perform these simulations. While we provide these simulations, we do not currently have the licenses to perform these simulations.

One thing with our USB2 redrivers to keep in mind, however, is that our redrivers are passively integrated into a system. These redrivers do not need to be directly integrated into the USB2 data lane trace in order to have an effect, our redrivers just need to be touching the trace in order to detect when the signal is a HS signal, and inject current into the signal. If, after implementing, the redriver is not having the intended effect, you can remove it without worrying about reworking the layout of your system.

Additionally, you can also use one of our redriver EVM's to look at the performance of our redrivers on a USB2 signal, see how they perform, and determine if the performance is up to expectations or not.

Again, sorry about being unable to provide simulations on our side.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
