TFP410: Does TFP410 supports micro HDMI?

Tool/software:

I am using SK-TDA4VM's schematic as reference and made a Custom board for TDA4VM.

I am using micro HDMI instead of HDMI-A

Can you confirm that TFP410 supports micro-HDMI? (as TFP is compliant to DVI Specification 1.0 and Micro-HDMI was introduced with HDMI version 1.4)

And also can you confirm the driver supports the micro-HDMI?

Hi,

TFP410 can support micro-HDMI, please note the micro-HDMI has the same number of pins as the standard HDMI Type A (19 pins), but its pin assignments differ from the original HDMI.

Actually I am getting data out from the IC, but no data is shown in the display.

And in one case where DDC bus is connected, then processor going to some default Operation mode. In such case, i am able to get the output.

Hi,

Can you please share your schematic? The processor needs to be able to read the display EDID through the DDC bus in order to display the HDMI output.

Yes, it can able to read EDID. When it is reading EDID, it is getting supported resolutions and start to send display data. That data I can able to probe till the end of the TFP410 IC. No picture in the display.

Now I removed DDC I2C from device tree. So the processor can't be able to get EDID. So the processor defaulting to 1024x768 resolution with other parameters. In such case I am able to get the picture.

What resolution are you trying to send when reading the EDID?

Hi,

What resolution are you trying to send when reading the EDID? For this particular resolution, do we know if the processor is sending 18bpp (RGB666) or 24bpp (RGB888) video data?

Can you have the DKEN pin tied to GND? Can you also probe the HDMI output? Are you seeing a valid clock output?

Hey Sathiya,

Let us know when you are able to get the information. The only difference between HDMI and micro HDMI is the physical connector. The electrical spec is all the same.
