DP83869EVM: DP83869 NOT WORKING WITH SIMPLEX SFP MODULE

I am facing issue when two DP83869 evm boards interfacing with SFP MODULE(simplex) make : OPTONE P/N: SFP-WDM-SM-0160DIA, Both evm have made with 100B-T to 100B-FX mode,  read reg 0x0001 : 0x7949.

    Hi Ravi,

    I have a few clarifying questions:

    • Have you seen this module work in other systems, for both 100M / 1G?
    • If the EVM is configured in Gigabit copper to fiber media conversion mode, do you still see link down with this module?
    • Do you have access to other 100M modules to test with?

    1. i have worked these modules with other systems not with dp83869,

    Hi Ravi,

    I believe you shared incomplete version of diagram, I cannot gather much information from it.

    If you have register access, can you share register dump while attempting to link with this module in 100M and 1G media converter modes?

    Hi  evan, i have configured 100M Media Converter register access as per in datasheet mentioned, is there any configuration needed for DUPLEX SFP or SIMPLEX SFP, because this setup is working with duplex sfp but not simplex.

    Hi Ravi,

    This configuration is valid for 100M media conversion.

    If this is working for Duplex SFP in 100M, then it is unclear if Simplex SFP supports 100M speed. 

    Are you seeing any functional issues while using Duplex SFP for 100M?

    I am using simplex SFP module with 100M speed and i have not seen any issue with duplex 100M speed

    I need to check with team to confirm what marginality would cause this behavior only for Simplex SFP.

    Just to verify, the same Simplex SFP modules are being used at each end-point during the failure?
