TUSB4041I: OVERCURxz debounce time

Part Number: TUSB4041I

Tool/software:

Hi

Does TUSB4041I have a debounce time on OVERCURxz pin?

How long should I assert OVERCURxz pin when the over-current event has occurred?

  • Hi Eugege:

Overcurrz pin is input active low, as long as the hub detect Overcurrent signal from the Vbus switch , it will turn off the power switch control signal.

What is customer concern for overcurrent?

    Regards

    brian

  • Hi Brian

    Thank you for your help.

I plan to connect a FAULT_N pin of vbus switch to Overcurrz pin.

My concern is how long FAULT_N should be held low.

  • Hi Eugene:

Once hub detect  Overcurrz goes low, it will turn PWRCTLx pin low to reset the vbus switch. If the overcurrent issue is not cleared , FAULT_N pin may still low. So it depends on when the overcurrent issue is cleard.

  • Hi Brian

I'd like to know TUSB4041I spec.

I'm asking how long I should hold low to detect the low input by TUSB4041I.

If the OVERCURRZ input goes low over tt(25ns), will TUSB4041I detect the input is low?

  • Hi Eugene:

There is no  spec for overcurrent.

Once over current happens, the fault signal of vbus  switch  goes low, the fault signal will keep low until the hub detect the overcurrent and use PWRCTL pin to reset the vbus switch. After vbus switch got reset, fault pin back to high again.

Vbus fault pin is connected to OVERCURR pf hub.

    Regards
