DP83867IS: SGMII not communicating and INT_TST_MODE_1 set to 1

Part Number: DP83867IS
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM69

Tool/software:

Hello,

we are not able to have any communication with this phy, using SGMII.

I followed the troubleshooting guide and all registers are as expected except:

SGMII_ANEG_STS value: 0x0000 - no SGMII page receive / Auto-Neg not complete

CFG4 value: 0x1090 - INT_TST_MODE_1 is 1 - while the strap option on RX_CTRL is correctly configured as mode 3

STRAP_STS2 value is: 0x0100 - bit 8 (explained only on CFG4 definitions...) is 1 so "test mode entry request from RX_CTRL's strap" is DISABLED

Why do we have bit 7 of CFG4 to 1? Is it normal?

As a side note: if I activate the reverse loopback I'm able to loop back packets to the counterpart (my notebook, at 1 Gb).

Just to say I expect that the chip itself is correctly powered and clocked.

Regards,

Emanuele
