DS90UB954-Q1: Video streaming issue with one particular board

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB953-Q1,

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

I have used the part DS90UB954-Q1 De-Serializer in my board and with DS90UB953-Q1 Combinations in Camera Module. One of my board iam facing video streaming issue ,MIPI output is not coming from the Deserializer. When connecting the same camera to the other board video stream getting properly. One particular board having issue with DS90UB954-Q1 De-Serializer. The configurations we are applying are same for both working board and Non working board. Pease refer the below register status read out from both boards. In Non working board it seems CSI disabled (With 0x33 status read) . Is there any internal diagnostics making this CSI disable? Can you please guide me for further debug.

We are only using one port RX0.

  • Hi Shiju,

Do you know if the camera is streaming on the non-working board? I can see that the SER/DES are locked in register 0x4D, however in the line count and line length registers (0x73-0x76) are all 0x00 on the non-working board.

  • Hi Shuji,

One other item to bring-up, there's a different strap for coax vs STP mode on the des in register 0x6D. Mode is also different in register 0xB8. Do you know if the voltage on the mode pin & voltage divider which selects it is the same?

  • Hi Thomas,

Voltage at the Mode pin is same for both boards. But while reading the registers those mode seems different. Any other reason will be there for this kind mode mode change other than mode pin settings?

  • Hi Shiju,

The mode is set at power-up, could you confirm that the power sequence is correct here? Included reference from the datasheet below:

  • Hi Thomas,

    Sorry for the late reply

Here Green is 1.8V , Yellow internal 1.1V and Orange is PDB Pin ,

Internal 1.1V is generated along with 1.8V input.  Is is may be due to any internal failure?

  • Hi,

Let me check back on the details of this tomorrow for you.

  • Hi Shuji,

I don't see the mode pin in the power sequence, do you know if this can be captured as well? Looking back at the abnormal registers I can see that the mode was strapped incorrectly, the pin may not have stabilized by the time PDB reached logic high.
