Hi team,

Is it recommended to place the DS280MB810ZBLT close to the device or the host? Is there a specific requirement on how many inches away from the host?
The following figure is a rough block diagram of the customer's board. They are considering whether to place the DS280MB810ZBLT in position ① or position ②. Which position do you think is more suitable?

The link loss margin at 12.5GHz on the CPU side is 1.6dB. How much margin can the DS280MB810ZBLT add?

    Hi Rannie,

    Thanks for sharing the customer's block diagram.  The block diagram shows the DS280MB810 only being used for system egress.  Is this correct, or will the DS280MB810 be used for ingress and egress?

    The DS280MB810 can extend reach by ~17 dB beyond normal ASIC-ASIC capability at 14 GHz.

    If DS280MB810 is just used for egress, I would recommend placing it closer to the front port (②) in order to equalize the channel between CPU -> DS280MB810.
