Hi Tomasz, 

I was able to confirm with our design team that the BSDL files have instruction widths defined as 8-bits, and all the instructions are also 8 bits. 

Have you tried using the bypass mode on 869? And please do confirm if the TDI is routed to TDO.

To load the bypass, I first need to load the "Bypass" instruction. But I can't do that because I have to shift 9 bits, but the BSDL file says it's only 8 bits. Therefore, with this statement, I unfortunately don't know what to do.

The question is precisely why I have to shift 9 bits?

Yes, we are shifting a defined pattern (8 bits, our test byte (0x52H)) through the scan chain. And we see that exactly after 9 bits, this pattern comes out of the chain again. Therefore, we see that we are loading something into the chain (TDI) and something is coming out again (TDO). And that while shifting the instruction.
