Tool/software:
I have a setup with a ds90ub953 serializer and a ds90ub954 deserializer.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what tools I should use to be able to display video from an IMX-219 camera?
The video needs to be displayed on my Linux Debian bookwork based system. I am using a custom build of Linux based on Debian bookwork configured for a Variscite imx8mp DART.
I can currently open webpages that show video (from YouTube, etc.).
I have been trying to use Gstreamer, but have had almost no success.
I can provide debug info, but before doing that I would like to make sure that using Gstreamer is a viable option, or if there are other programs such as VLC (command line only) that might be more appropriate.
Thank you for any and all suggestions.
Brent
Hi Brent,
Thanks for reaching out with this question. Do you have any block diagram showing what your hardware setup looks like? From the SER/DES side the UB953 serializer will receive the CSI-2 data from the IMX219, this data will be passed over the FPD-Link, and output from the UB954 deserializer as CSI-2 data. To display this data, a CSI-2 receiver would need to be connected to the UB954 which can output this video data to a display.
What we can also check on from the deserializer side is various register address values which can indicate information on the CSI-2 video stream such as the line length and line count.
Best,
Thomas
