Tool/software:

Hello,

My customer is looking to replace DS92LV3241 with DS90UB925 for transmitting and receiving video signals as below due to discontinuation of DS92LV3241.

   - Resolution : 392 * 392

   - Refresh rate : 200Hz

   - PCLK : 80MHz

Please review the design below for any issues.

Is it okay to use DS25BR100 with DS90UB925?

Thank you.

  • Hi JH,

The PCLK rate is within the 925 specification. Please ensure the the DS90UB925-Q1 is paired with a compatible deserializer based on the video output required on the receiver/ display side.

    1. We recommend ferrite beads for VDD33 and VDDIO which are have impedance of 1 kOhm at 100 MHz, and  Low DC resistance ( less than 1 Ohm)

    2. For FPD-Link interface AC-coupling capacitors (C587, C588 on schematic) we recommend smaller size 0402.

    3. The FPD-Link III products have a bidirectional control channel for communication between Ser-Des and remote I2C. Please remove the DS25BR100 since it is for unidirectional use cases.

A buffer such as the DS25BR100 may not be required at all for the FPD-Link serDes, and it would be sufficient if the channel specification requirements (IL, RL, jitter, impedance, etc) are met for the total channel (PCB, connector, cable).

Please ensure these specifications are met by selecting applicable connector and cables, and pairing with a compatible deserializer.
What is the deserializer use here? Or what transmitter output is required to interface with the display/ receiver at the end?

    Best regards,
    Ikram

  • Hi Ikran,

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

Please refer to the link below for usage of this customer's deserializer.
