Hello TI Team,
Is there any chance you could perform a review of a design (schematic & layout) offering power over ethernet + FPD-III data transmission?
If so, what would be the best way to share the design?

Hi Andrey,
Do you mean power-over-coaxial instead of power-over-Ethernet? If you are using power-over-Ethernet, then these SerDes devices would not be the appropriate solution as the FPD-Link serializers and deserializers high-speed bidirectional control channel is not Ethernet-based.
In any case, TI does not maintain an official recommendation for power-over-coaxial for IVI applications as this was not validated during device rollout since the channel specifications for IVI devices are tighter than the channel specifications for ADAS devices. It is theoretically possible to support power-over-coaxial on IVI devices, but again there is no official TI recommendation for these types of configurations on IVI devices so no review can be provided on this. However, the rest of the IC (both schematic and layout) can be reviewed if needed.
Best,
Nikolas
Hello Nikolas,
I see that there are some recommendations that offer power over twisted pair:
Also, some links in the answer below:
Some parts from Colicraft like KA4909-AL seems to be designed for exact use-case.
How can I share the design with the team?
Hi Andrey,
What is not highlighted in the previous posts is what was addressed above - the channel specifications for IVI devices are tighter than the channel specifications for ADAS devices. Again, there is no official TI recommendation for these types of configurations on IVI devices so no review can be provided on this.
If you are going to explore implementing a power-over-twisted pair configuration with the FPD-Link IVI devices, I would suggest syncing with Coilcraft directly for a custom power-over-twisted pair solution. Then, you will need to ensure that Channel Specification requirements (IL, RL, impedance, etc.) are met.
Best,
Nikolas
