TS12A12511 Grounding

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS12A12511

Howdy folks,

Quick question on the TS12A12511.  I'm inputing 2 analog signals into the normally closed the normally open pins and would like to switch between them using a TTL signal.  Should the GND pin on the TS12A12511 route to the digital ground or the analog ground?  Which ground should the power supply pins be decoupled to?

Thanks,

Austin

  • Howdy Austin McElroy,

Since the internal circuitry is not dependent on the analog signal and is dependent on the digital signal, the GND pin should tied to DGND.  For the supplies, since the supply voltages are only being used for power and not as a reference voltage, like in an ADC or DAC, it will not matter which ground the supplies are tied to.

    Hopefully this helps,

    Best Regards,
