Hi all
There are the following questions in "Absolute Maximum Ratings" table of DS90C3202 data sheet.
1. "Package Derating" What is meant?
2. Although theta(ja) is not indicated, what value is it?
3. Although written as "Maximum Package Power Dissipation Capacity at 25C"=1.4W,
Worse Case(max) of "Figure 6." =550mA and it is set to 3.3Vx0.55A=1.815W,
Isn't "Maximum Package Power Dissipation Capacity" exceeded?
best regards
Hisa Kobayashi
Kobayashi-San,
I apologize for the delay.
Theta JA is listed indirectly under package derating. It is 25.6mW/Deg C above + 25 Deg C.
So if the device is drawing 200mA at 3.3V then P = .66W/.0256 = 25.7 Deg C rise above ambient.
This is equivalent to 1/25.6mW = 39c/W for a typical Theta Ja.

Hi Mr. nasser.
Thank you for your reply.
I am understanding of "Package derating" and calculation of theta(ja) was completed.
Thank you.
Regards.
Hisa Kobayashi.
