Hello,
I have question of TUSB8040.
When I use TUSB8040 as DCP only, Is the USB controller not necessary?
When I use TUSB8040 as DCP only, What kind of pin processing should I do?

This thread was moved from Application-Automotive to Consumer Computing Interfaces forum, as TUSB8040 is supported by CCI product-line.

Hello Team,
'DCP only' means just charging iPhone with ‘Dedicated Charging Port’ mode without any data transmission.
By the way, the question was posted to external E2E by Disty FAE guy. Could you let me know the reason why it’s moved to internal E2E ?
He cannot access the post now.

The choice of internal forum was a mistake. I moved thread to external version.
Hello,
First of all, the TUSB8040 is now with status of NRND device (not recommended for new designs), so for new designs that involve a USB3.0 hub, the TUSB8040A1 is the recommended device.
On the other hand, for a DCP only application using a TUSB8040A1 is not a good choice. For this case, I would recommend to use instead a USB power switch with battery charging capabilities, such as: TPS2511, TPS2513, TPS2513A, TPS2514, TPS2514A...
