DS92LX2121 Terminology

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS92LX2121

On page 25 in the display mode section of the DS92LX2121/22 data sheet reads:

"Before initiating any I2C commands, the Serializer needs to be programmed with the target slave device address and Serializer device address. DES_DEV_ID Register 0x06h sets the Deserializer device address and SLAVE_DEV_ID register 0x7h sets the remote target slave address."

Is the deserializer referred to as the target slave device address and devices connected to the deserializer referred to as the remote target slave address?

  • Hi Gerald,

Yes, you are correct. Since you are operating the SerDes pair in Display mode, the serializer must be programmed with the target slave device address (SLAVE_DEV_ID Reg 0x7h) and Deserializer device address (DES_DEV_ID Reg 0x6h).

We will work to correct this typo on the next datasheet revision. Sorry for the confusion.

    Thanks,

    Michael
