Power supply DS90CF364A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90CF364A, TPS61091, DS90CF384A

Hello.

I need to use DS90CF364A, but my interface RGB works to1.8V to 0V. I have read in DS90CF364A datasheet the Supply Voltage (VCC) -0.3V to 4V. Is it possible that i works DS90CF364A with Supply Voltage 1.8V??

Best Regards

  • Hello Jose,

The following Table Note in the DS90CF364A datasheet may be able to help in answering your question.

As you noted, the Absolute Maximum Ratings Table does say that the Supply Voltage can be -0.3 V to 4.0 V; however, this does not imply that the device can properly operate within the entirety of this voltage range.

According to the Recommended Operating Conditions Table, the Supply Voltage should not fall below 3.0 V or above 3.6 V. Extended use of this part outside of these recommended operating conditions may cause the part to become inoperable.

  • Dear Michael.

    Thank you. I thought it.

About the other Vcc, how i can connect??

    Best Regards

  • Hi Jose,

As Michael mentioned, the ideal operating conditions for Vcc supply voltage is 3.3 V, with a variance of +/- 10%. Therefore, Vcc = 1.8 V is not supported.

If you only have a 1.8 V power supply available, would it be possible to use a DC-DC boost converter to attain a 3.3 V rail to use with the DS90CF384A? There are several 1.8V-to-3.3V boost converters available on TI.com. One solution I found is the TPS61091.

    Thanks,

    Michael
