Hi Patrick,

We have many redrivers which can interface with CML. To suggest the best devices we should know several pieces of information.

1. datarate

2. data encoding or scrambling

3. channel attenuation before and after redriver

The re-driver will use between 913A and 914A to enhance cable distance. Thank you.

Patrick,
The 913 and 914 devices have the capability to communicate via I2C over the same differential pair used by the high speed SerDes. This minimizes the cable dimensions, cost, and size. However, if this bi-directional communication is enabled normal CML redrivers or buffers will not allow the data to work in the reverse direction.

Hello Lee,

if customer don't transmit I2C for back channel just transmit forward data, do you have any suggest solution between 913/914? Thank you.

Hi Patrick,

Either the DS25BR110 or the DS64BR111. Both work with AC coupled interfaces.

For 2 Gbps data, the DS25BR100, DS25BR110, and DS25BR120 single redrivers can be used to redrive with Rx or Tx signal conditioning.

In most cases these LVDS devices will be AC coupled and can interoperate with CML or other highspeed IO.
