Hi TI Experts.

Please provide us some solution to resolve the following issue.

[Issue]
We tried to evaluate the MSP430 evaluation board(MSP-CAPT-FR2633) with My Windows 7 PC(32bit). When we inserted this board to my pc via USB, my PC could not recognize and show it as "unknown device".  And this evaluation board is used the TUSB2046B.
Would you please show us the way to improve it?

Best regards.
Kaka

  • Hello Kaka,

I would like to clarify some points:
Are you you using our TUSB2046B Evaluation Board (if not, please provide your schematics)?
Is the Hub being enumerated by the system (use USBView to identify the hub and take a screen capture)?
Is the MSP430 board being enumerated when you connect it directly to the USB host?

    >Is the Hub being enumerated by the system (use USBView to identify the hub and take a screen capture)?
No. this board could not recognized as hub controller.
Also I tried using the USBView, I could not run this S/W. My PC environments is as below.
    OS: Window7 32bit

    >Is the MSP430 board being enumerated when you connect it directly to the USB host?
As I said in my first post, I used the MSP430 evaluation board. And it could not connect this board directly to PC because this board does not have any other usb port.

    Best regards.

  • Hello Kaka,

I have reviewed the schematics and it seems to be set up correctly. I would suggest you connecting the hub to a different USB host.
Could you report the issue to the MSP430 team?
    Regards,
    Joel
  • Hi Joel,
Thank you for your quick response.
My PC only has one port USB host. So, I cannot confirm this...

    > Could you report the issue to the MSP430 team?

  • Hello Kaka,

Please, try connecting the hub to a clean Windows 7 system and run USBView.

    Thanks

  • Hi Joel,
Does USBView support 32bit widonws OS?
**We could not run this software on my 32bit windows 7 PC.

And when I used the other windows 7 PC, it could recognize this board.
It seems that this phenomenon gets stuck with my PC. In addition to this, the same model PC also happen this phenomenon.
So, it gets stack with this PC model.(Panasonic CF-AX2LDCCS)

If you have any questions, please let me know.
    Best regards.
