SN65LVPE512 Pin Connection

Hello,

I have a basic question.

It is mentioned Pin labeled 'Controller' must connect to the host or controller on the Datasheet.

I checked the Block diagram of the device. It looks the 'Controller' side function is same as 'Connector' side function.

Could you tell me the reason why the direction is fixed?

Hi Naoki,

This device can be used in Host side or device side. Depending on your application the controller may be the host or the device.
This is because of Rx detection sequence, some devices failed to be detected when the controller was not detected first.
