Which kind of LFPS does TUSB542 support?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB542, SN65LVPE502CP, TUSB522P

Dear Sirs.

I have two question about TUSB542 LFPS support.

I am now making USB TRX with FPGA SERDES blocks.

Super speed communication is no trouble, but LFPS negotiation is a little bit difficult.

So if some TI product support LFPS negotiation with host, I am very happy to use.

Question:

1. When device is U3 mode and TUSB542 receive LFPS (Wakeup), TUSB542 reply something to host automatically(ex: polling or others)?

2. Can device get the information when TUSB542 receive LFPS(Wakeup or others)?

or something other TI chip may support this kind of LFPS negotiation?

Ex: SN65LVPE502CP is better for me?

Thank you for your cooperation.

With Best Regards.

  • Hello User,

The TUSB542 detects the LFPS signals and automatically let them pass without modification. This is in order to avoid De-emphasis and Equalization effects on the low-frequency signals. Basically, our device is transparent to the USB channel and do not respond to any LFPS signaling, just let them pass thru the channel.

    The best options for USB3.1 Gen1 re-drivers are the TUSB542 & TUSB522p.

    Regards,
    Diego.
