Dear Sir,

May I confirm the design issue of TMDS171 circuit? 

Should we need to place AC coupling capacitor on TMDS171 input circuit? Thanks.

    Hi Eason,

    TMDS171 is a HDMI1.4 redriver/retimer; for HDMI, AC caps are not required.

    If you have a DP++ application you may need DP149, AC caps are needed at DP149 input, it will level shift the signal to HDMI levels, we have SN65DP149 and SN75DP149 depending the temperature range you need.

    If you have DP application, you may need DP130 and AC caps are placed in both input and output.
