TCA6424A Interrupt Signal

Hi,

We see that there is an INT signal on TC6424A, which triggers when there is any change in inputs. As per the post on   https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/i2c/f/390/t/518072 it is mentioned to provide external pull-up on unused pins to avoid false interrupts. We are planning to program the unused pins as outputs instead of providing external pull-ups, do you see any issue with this regarding INT pin behaviour?

  • Raja,

There are no issues with setting the unused pins to outputs to avoid false interrupts.

    I have 1 suggestion/concern, though.

After power up, all pins will default to input mode, and unused pins will be floating. This will cause higher ICC and possibility of a false interrupt before you configure the pins. If you are OK with these potentials, then you are fine setting the unused pins as outputs.
