TPS2034: About Annex CC of IEC60950-1 Edition2 amd 1 (or 2)

For the same reasoning in below post, we recommend using TPS2001CDGN instead. We can provide the latest safety certification for TPS2001CDGN but most likely cannot for the older TPS2034 device.

Thank you for suggestion of TPS2001C.

However, they need the rise time more than around 3ms so this device can’t satisfy their demand.

According to your comment, I understand that TPS2034DR didn’t acquire " Annex CC of “IEC60950-1 Edition2 amd 1 (or 2)”.

Is my understanding correct?

I'm curious about why the rise time is so critical. Is it because of the poor current limit performance of the TPS2034 (the peak trip current could be 2x of the Ios spec in the datasheet)? TPS2001CDGN eliminates the current trip peaking so that the rise time does not matter as much to control inrush current.

I got “TEST REPORT IEC 60950-1 of TPS2001C” from your team before.

" Annex CC " is listed in this report.

Do you have a report same as this?

According to our customer, this rise time is demand contents of the sequence of the load device.

First, they are evaluating TPS2001C but they found the concern point of the rise time.

Currently, they consider whether they cannot use TPS2001C by relaxing a condition of the sequence of load device.

If they judge TPS2001C not to be usable, TPS2034 becomes the next candidate.

Therefore, they need information of TPS2034.
