During current limit the internal mosfet gate will drive the Rds in to saturation region to make the ouput current be constent .
During normal application the current don't exceed the limit thershould , the internal Mosfet is fully turn on the Rds(on) will be very small (22mR typical value ).

I would like to know how TPS2556 measures the output current.
I'm supposing that it measures by sensing the voltage of Power SW during source and drain.
Is it correct?
