SN65LVCP408: VBB pin with AC coupling

Part Number: SN65LVCP408

Hi Team,

My customer is using the SN65LVCP408 with AC coupling input for the application and is wondering what would be most optimal implementation for VBB pin.

I have been referring to the E2E post here and the final post suggests to leave the pin floating.  However, I would like to check and see if adding a coupling capacitor (ex: 0.01uF) would be appropriate for filtering noise?

Thanks for the clarification and help in advance,

Jerry

  • Hi Jerry,

I would recommend to put a capacitor footprint on the board just in case, but we have not seen the need to add external filtering at VBB.  Having the footprint will make for an easy TP if any probing/debug is needed on the PCB later.

    Regards,
