TUSB8044: 1.8V on the oscillator?

Hello,

I would like to use an oscillator for my TUSB8044 design. Is it correct that it must be operated with 1.8V as described on page 20 of the data sheet? In itself, the hub works with 1.1V and 3.3V. That would mean a third power source on my board.

And would it be possible to access the documentation for EEPROM programming?

Hello Falko,

The datasheet is correct; oscillator must be 1.8Vpp.

EEPROM programming can be done over USB using a software GUI we developed; this is only recommended during the development phase of your product. Once in production the recommendation is to use professional grade tools to program the EEPROM before it is soldered, or once in the board during IST.

Hi Falko,

A small level shifter or a resistor divider network would be lower cost options than adding a third power rail.
