DS90C3201: Replacing DS90C387A for DVI to LVDS conversion with SSC.

I have a question regarding DVI to LVDS conversion.

In the SLLA325A application sheet it is recommended to use the DS90C387A for Dual Pixel application. But since we would like to use SSC (Spread Spectrum Clocking) and the DS90C387A does not support this, we can not use it.

My question is if it is possible to use the DS90C3201 instead, combined with the CDCS501 Clock driver for SSC.

If this is the case, I would also like to ask if there are application notes to recommend the best way to utilize this IC for Dual Pixel 24-bit color DVI to LVDS conversion.

What is the SSC condition you wish to apply? e.g. frequency and amplitude

Hey Darryl,

We want to use the CDCS501 at the 30kHz Modulation Frequency with a Spread Amount of 1.00%.

Hello Pim,
The 387A or the DS90C3201 should be able to accept some SSC. They may have to reduce modulation and spread though.

Thanks for the answer, just to make sure: It is possible to replace the DS90C387A with the DS90C3201 in combination with the SN65LVDS93ADGGR to do dual pixel DVI to LVDS conversion according to the SLLA325A Application sheet?

You can replace the DS90C387A with DS90C3201 but I am confuse with "combination of SN65LVDS93ADGGR". The SN65LVDS93ADGGR is a single link LVCMOS to LVDS.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the confusion. I meant the TFP401AIPZPRQ1 and not the SN65LVDS93ADGGR.
