SN65LVDS387: LVDS Driver & Receiver not working

Part Number: SN65LVDS387
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90C032
We are using TI made SN65LVDS387DGGR, SN65LVDS389DBTR in our PCB for o/p ing the
signals on to uD connector in LVDS format.

When we interfaced this with test jig having LVDS receiver(DS90C032), we found no data was coming
out. So we monitored the LVDS signal and is found that signal transition was taking from 0 to 3.3V
with no offset. As per the LVDS standard, there should be offset.

DS90C032is used on the jig and we went through the data sheet which says about the offset of
1.125V is required from the LVDS driver. This offset is not there in SN65LVDS387,389.

Is there any chance SN65LVDS387,389 ic not functioning properly or Is there any way we can
interface these two ic's making correction at SN65LVDS387,389.
Or can u suggest any other IC equivalent for SN65LVDS387,389 in pitch to interface it with DS90C032.
Kindly suggest at the earliest.
  • Hello Sandesh,

SN65LVDS387 is a standard compliant LVDS driver and it should work with any standard LVDS receiver, including DS90C032. Please provide a block diagram (or a simple sketch) showing what is connected to both sides of SN65LVDS387, the LVDS connection between SN65LVDS387 and DS90C032, the 100 ohm terminations at the input of the DS90C032, and anything else connected to the LVDS lines.

Also, have you tried to replace the SN65LVDS387 chip, in case that particular chip got damaged?
