TPS2557: Output short

Hi,

What is the probable mode of failure for this device ,. Unit came for repair and It shows "OUT" pin short to ground as well as  "IN" pin short to gnd . 

Even if the OUT pin is shortcircuited, it is supposed to survive.

    Hi, Muthu RAM,

    Yes, Our device will shutdown power switch when OUT is short to GND and Over temperature.

    The probable failure might be electrical over stress damage, like pin voltage is out of recommend range, ESD level over than 15-kV and 8-kV System-Level.
