Solution for 2ch FPD-Link(LVDS) to Parallel RGB

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90C187, DS90CF388, DS90C387

Hi,

Now the customer consider DS90C187. And also they are looking for the solution for 2ch FPD-Link(LVDS) that is output of DS90C187 to parallel RGB. Do you have such deserializer device or receiver solution?

Best Regards,

Satoshi

  • Hi Satoshi-san,

Looking at the diagram it looks like the output of the deserializer needs to be 24-bit RGB. If this is the case why do you need to use the DS90C187 in single pixel in to dual pixel out mode? Why not just use it in single pixel in to single pixel out mode, and then use a single channel deserializer?

  • Hi I.K.

Thank you for your comment. Let me explain again what the customer want to evaluate.

They are planning to receive the output of DC90C187 at separated Board B as attached. They'd like to deserialize the received data to compare it with original GPU output. They'll use this configuration just for evaluation phase and so they'll not implement it for mass production.

  • Hi Satoshi,

Thanks for the clarification. I believe they can use the DS90CF388 to achieve this. But, the problem is the DS90C187 is a 1.8V device while the DS90CF388 is a 3.3V device, so they will need to use external components if they want to connect the two.

If it's just for evaluation, can they use the DS90C387 instead of the DS90C187? It is functionally the same as the DS90C187, except it is also a 3.3V device and can be used with the DS90CF388 without extra components.

    I.K.
