Dear TI Sir :
We also have a standard typec-C PD power supply (100W) and a 24V power supply (96W), but the 24V will exceed the IC's maximum voltage rating.
Can we connect a diodes on VBUS ,and floating the SENSEP(B10) and SENSEN(A10) pin, make the 24V power pass directly through the PP_EXT path as follows?
at the same time, comply with the PD protocol.
Or do you have any other suggestions?
Hello,
Floating the SENSEP and SENSEN pins will not disable the over-voltage protection of the TPS65982. The VBUS pins of TPS65982 would also be damaged if 24V is present on them. You cannot place the diode D3 there either as this would prevent the TPS65982 from seeing the valid VBUS contract and the IC would continuously issue Hard Reset as it thinks there is no voltage on VBUS.
We currently do not have a Type-C PD solution that is 24V capable.
