TPS65982: Questions about sleep mode and GPIO4 HPD function

Part Number: TPS65982

Dear,

My question is related to the TPS65982DC, and here are two questions want to ask:

1. In the FW setting, If the sleep mode is enabled, when the system will enter into sleep and when it will out of the sleep mode?

2. For the HPD for DP,  I set GPIO4 as the HPD function, when there is no DP device, the GPIO4 output will be float or set low? and is it when DP device inserted, the HPD will set high, am I right?

Thanks.

  • Hi John,

    1. The sleep timer is configurable. Once there is no I2C messaging and no connection on the Type-C Port, the sleep timer will begin. Once the sleep timer has reached 0, the TPS65982 will enter sleep mode.

    2. It will be set low if there is no DP Device. It will go high once the DP Attention message for HPD is seen in PD negotiation.

    Thank you,
    Eric
