DP83848Q-Q1: 100BASE-TX evaluation failed

Part Number: DP83848Q-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01425

Hi Team,

We carried out evaluation of 100BASE-TX in DP83848Q-Q1 and got failed results for AOI Template, Rise Time and Fall time. There were no problems for the other test items (Output Voltage, Overshoot, Transmit Jitter and Distortion) (however, Return Loss was not measured)

-------- Results --------------

Rise Time(+ve) 5.48ns
Rise Time(-ve) 5.59ns
Fall Time(+ve) 5.37ns
Fall Time(-ve) 5.27ns

-----------------------------------------

・For the circuit from the connector to ether-phy, one for the evaluation board: TIDA-01425 was diverted

・Even though we replaced H2019FNLT (Pulse Electronics Network) with ALT4532M201 (TDK) + ACM2012E-900-2P (TDK) for our pulse trans and filter, we hardly saw any changes in the test results

・From the above results, we considered that this issue hadn't been caused by the pulse trans and filter, reviewed the part positioning and shortened the wiring length as much as possible. However, we hardly saw any changes in the test results.

・The waveform of the eye pattern seems to have shortage of output current at the rising part

Could anyone please help us find any possible causes and measures to take for this matter?

Regards,

Fujii
