Part Number: SN65HVD10

Hi Team,

If our SN65HVD10 can support RS485 convert to RS232 application?  If not, do we have any device can support?

    Hi Lilian,

    Typically you would need one transceiver to handle the RS-485-to-TTL conversion and another transceiver to handle TTL-to-RS-232 conversion. If the link is half duplex, you may need additional logic circuitry to properly control the RS-485 transmitter's enable control. You can find an example implementation in this reference design:

    Note that this reference also introduces galvanic isolation. If that is not needed, though, then the digital isolator could simply be bypassed and the same power supply could be used for both transceivers.
